Pirates descended on the fun at Pedalfest 2018, in Oakland’s Jack London Square. There were Queens and Princesses, Scraper Bikes and folks flipping into the water on their amphibious bikes.
Bob and I organized the Amphibious Bike Race part of the event and built a portable aluminum and plywood ramp, funded by Bike East Bay and John Muir Health. It was a lot of work, but a glorious success!

The Notorious Snark made its debut, following a lengthy try at getting the pin inserted into the axle sleeve to turn a one-wheel drive into a 2-wheel drive.

World famous unicyclist Tom Holub did not have much luck with his flotation supports.
Peter Wagner’s Sisyfus fell into the water, eliciting cheers from the crowd.
And finally, Pineapple Trike’s own Amphibious Pirate Ship Quad rolled in and away across the water.
